John Alderton founded the firm in 1965. It became a partnership in the 1980s and was re-formed into its current partnership in 2000.

Did you know, our practice was involved in the refurbishment works of the now iconic village scene of Hyde Park Corner Cottages on the village green in Cavendish. This assembly of 16th century cottages, located in the foreground of St Mary’s Church were saved from demolition and restored in the 1950s as Almshouses, however they suffered a disastrous fire in 1966. John Alderton was appointed in the 1970’s to assist with the restoration, working from historical photographs to help recreate the style and form of the original cottage range. Unfortunately we no longer have the old ink pen drawings from 50 years ago!
