A new home

We specialise in all forms of residential design, but new houses for private clients are very personal projects and require a clear and complete understanding of what the client is seeking to achieve. The design brief should explore not only the physical space requirements (numbers of bedrooms and reception rooms etc), but also the way in which clients imagine ‘using’ their home. Function, form, style and detailing are all crucial factors that must blend together to inform our proposals and we aim to achieve bespoke, design-led solutions to all such projects, whether big or small.

Great care is taken to get the most from floor plan arrangements, all tailored to the client’s needs and desires, but also incorporating novel ‘layers of delight’.

We have been privileged to work on many one-off houses across a huge broad range of traditional and contemporary styles. A brand new house is something truly special and it should always be ‘original’. If we are asked to explore contemporary ideas we will invent and innovate to a strong concept; if we are asked to devise a traditional style, we will resolve a composition with detailing and proportions that are authentic and refined. If we are asked to convert an old barn or other building range, we make sure to respect the original building’s character, but breathe exciting new life into it.
