Our projects come in all shapes & types and conversion projects can bring some interesting results.
We recently achieved planning permission to convert four redundant silos to a one-off, rural holiday let. On their own, the silos stood a few feet apart, so we came up with a way of linking them together, but also to vertically extend two of them to create additional accommodation. Balancing the retention of a rural building form in the landscape, while making the accommodation well-lit, functional and ‘quirky’ was a challenge and local authority officers didn’t make it easy for our clients, as these were situated close to a listed building. Officers were also concerned that they could be seen from some local footpaths…’exactly…why shouldn’t they be seen’ was our answer! (The photos show our before & after montages).
